Closing Bell: Saudi Main Index Climbs to 11,900

Saudi Arabia's benchmark stock index, the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI), closed at 11,900.57 points, up 0.8% on Tuesday, extending its winning streak to a second session.

The index rose by 94.02 points, with 152 stocks advancing and 75 declining. The total trading volume reached 209.7 million shares, while the total traded value amounted to SAR 2.6 billion.

** The top performing stock for the day was Bahri, which surged by 10%. Other top gainers included Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which rose by 3.5%, and Al Rajhi Bank, which climbed by 2.5%. On the other hand, the worst performing stock for the day was Al Tayyar Travel Group, which fell by 5.8%. Other top decliners included Saudi British Bank (SABB), which lost 2.5%, and Sahara Petrochemical Company, which dropped by 2.2%. The energy sector was the best performing sector for the day, rising by 1.2%. The financials and materials sectors also performed well, gaining 0.9% and 0.7%, respectively. On the international front, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 34,108.64 points, up 0.6%. The S&P 500 index also rose by 0.6% to close at 4,164.27 points. The Nasdaq Composite index, however, fell by 0.1% to close at 12,090.24 points. The rise in the Saudi main index comes amid positive sentiment in the global markets, as investors anticipate a strong earnings season and a continued recovery in the global economy. The index is now up by over 10% year-to-date.
