Emily Anne Thornberry was born on 27 July 1960 in Guildford, Surrey, England. She pursued legal studies and met her husband, Christopher Nugee, at law school.

Political Career

Thornberry entered the political arena in 2001 when she stood for election in Canterbury. She was later elected as the Member of Parliament for Islington South and Finsbury in 2005 and has held the seat ever since.
