Benedictine College Softball Heads to Elimination Game After Loss to Cumberlands

Ravens Fall 7-3 in Opener of NAIA Softball World Series

At-Large Bid Earns BC a Spot in Championship Tournament

ATLANTA, Ga. – Top-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) used a five-run third inning Saturday night to down Benedictine College 7-3 in the opening round of the 2023 NAIA Softball World Series at the South Commons Softball Complex.

The loss sends Benedictine (49-10) to the elimination bracket where they face No. 6-seed William Carey (Miss.) in an elimination game Sunday at 9 a.m. CT. The Ravens are the No. 3 seed in the tournament and earned an at-large bid into the championship event.

The Patriots, who are making their eighth appearance in the World Series, improved to 50-8 and advanced to face No. 2-seed Oklahoma City in a winner's bracket game on Sunday.
